While embracing the Holiday season and giving back to the community the McClary Financial Advisory office partnered with Post Media, The Calgary Sun & The Salvation Army to participate in the 34th annual Adopt-A-Family Program.
This year our practice committed to adopting two local families assisting with donations for meals, housewares and Christmas gifts. Over the course of a few weeks, we scurried around gathering a long list of items. By enlisting the help of Joe and his two lookalike elves (Kyan & Asia) to brave the mall, the grocery store and the ever so popular big box stores we successfully completed our shopping excursions and made plans to move onto stage two of our mission, delivery of our items.
After checking the list… twice… We moved to pack the sleigh (The Lee-Owe Family SUV) and head to the local UPS depot for distribution of our items. Normally, working alongside a bunch of “planners” would suggest that our group would be prim, proper and first in line on delivery day... with the exception, that delivery was scheduled the morning after the McClary Christmas party. After a slow start that involved a Tim Hortons Kickstart we made it to the UPS depot (in the knick of time) on what seemed to be the coldest, windiest, snow filled day of 2016. With the help from the committed volunteer group we unpacked the sleigh and our items were off.
Special thanks to all the folks that went out of their way to help our Christmas project a success.
